“NevNice11er give up and no matter what the world thinks of you, you and your ways are a blessing.”
This quote is a permanent fixture for self taught musician, Saukar. Born and Raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Saukar has over 20 years of experience in the music industry.
While growing up, he found inspiration from his mother Brenda, late father David, aunt Beverly, grandma Queen, and also from the large contributions Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X. At just 9 years old, Saukar began playing the guitar and trombone in his school’s band. Not long after, he also learned how to play basics on the piano. It was during this time that his love for Hip-Hop grew and he began writing lyrics as he started producing his first songs.
After finishing high school, Saukar went on to attend Florida A&M University, in Tallahassee, Florida. For a few years, he studied Accounting. Sadly, in 1994, Saukar’s father passed away, and he left school to focus on his family. While going through his father’s records and listening to nearly every song in the R&B, Funk and Jazz collection, Saukar decided to take his own career in music more seriously.
By 2002, he had built his own computer studio. Although he experienced computer crashes and the loss of multiple songs, Saukar stayed undeterred and continued to rebuild and upgrade his studio. Not long after, he began performing with other local artists and even produced Jazz, R&B, and Hip Hop music for them. During his music career, he has worked in numerous agencies and groups, including New Breed Entertainment and Heatholders/Northstar MCs. In both groups, Saukar served as a member and producer. After the groups ended and each member went their separate ways, Saukar once again started making his own music.
Since then he has copyrighted 1500 songs that he plans on releasing, and owns his own record label and publishing company under Heatholders Music Association. He is highly influenced by artist such as KRS-One, Anita Baker, Stevie Wonder, Dr. Dre, Outkast, 2-Pac, and many others. Everyday he works tirelessly to create the music his fans love, and in the future, his songs will expand to different genres. He even has plans of helping other artists navigate their way through the technical and business side of music. Outside of this work and in his free time, Saukar enjoys reading and being with his wife and their three children.
